ANNIVERSARY EVENT 2008
EXHIBITION at WESTBURY MANOR MUSEUM
Saturday7th May onwards the Exhibition opens to all and will remain open as follows:-
Monday to Friday: 10am to 5pm Saturday 10am to 4pm
Sunday 8th June
WALK(optional) from the original school site via the 1908 Park Lane site then on to a
SERVICEof Commemoration at St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Church for 11.30am.
S.O.P. CENTENARY SUMMER LUNCH12.30 for 1pm.
It is hoped the Exhibition will open later for a short time for a members’ and partners’ only viewing.
Saturday 21st June
The exhibition will close at 4pm. An informal buffet lunch is being planned.
S.O.P. CENTENARY CHRISTMAS LUNCH
This will be the final event of the 1908 - 2008 celebrations. Venue; The RAF Club, Piccadilly; 12.15 for 1pm – Guest Speaker: "England, Education, and Fareham in 1908"

**MEMBERS’ HELP IS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE EXHIBITION A SUCCESS**:
The Society needs volunteers to help compile in design format the display panels. Presentation instructions are available.
The Exhibition at Westbury Manor Museum:
The following display panels are planned:-
1.The Opening in 1908. The 1908 Opening Day Poster with overview. The ‘Lion Plaque’ to be displayed nearby plus also a display model clothed in the traditional uniform of a Price’s schoolboy.
2.The Buildings. (a) The School’s premises through the years from William Price’s house in West Street to the 1908 site. Illustrated by etchings and/or photographs with suitable narrative. (b) Photographic illustration of the transformation of the Park Lane site from Grammar School/Six Form College to a huge residential site.
3.William Price. His Legacy – Portrait with descriptive narrative – Original objects of the Will and the formation of The William Price Charitable Trust – selective samples with narrative.
4.Headmasters and Staff. Headmasters and selected masters using photographs with descriptive narratives with appropriate anecdotes, nicknames or comments.
5.The Pupils. Life and times through the ages at Price’s School – illustrated by photographs and narratives not forgetting the boarders. Speak bubbles to highlight boys’ and masters’ experiences, anecdotes etc., etc.
6.Sporting Achievements. Sporting successes and achievements of the School and pupils during their time at Price’s.
7.Price’s in Wartime. Price’s during the 1939-45 war.
8.Academic Achievements. Educational successes and statistics including typical University statistics.
9.The CCF and Band.
10.The Society of Old Priceans. Its history to include its forerunners and the LSOP.
11.Price’s Houses. The School’s ‘House’ set-up and explanation behind their chosen names.
12.School Activities. Other Price’s activities such as Drama, Music, Scouts, Debating Society, Chess, Sailing and others.
13.War Memorial Boards. Boards for the 1914-18 and 1939-45.
The following will also be evident:-
The Society is seeking your help in providing personal photographs, memorabilia, anecdotes and memories of Price’s School from your era. Any recollections will do.
